3-in-1 M.2 expansion cards streamline stocking

Sometimes, something catches your eye at a show, and you just need to know more. And sometimes, the seemingly simplest solution can make a big difference in this shortage-prone industry. Check out Cervoz’s multi-form-factor M.2 expansion cards.

ipXchange encountered a rather interesting solution from Cervoz at Embedded World 2024. While Cervoz primarily seems to make memory modules, it also makes some great solutions for industrial PCs, including a series of high-performance multi-form-factor M.2 expansion cards for various wired interfaces.

So what do we mean by ‘multi-form-factor’?

Well, as you can see from the image below, Cervoz’s multi-form-factor M.2 expansion cards can be snapped off to suit 42 mm, 60 mm, or 80 mm card slots, with a standard 22 mm width.

Cervoz offers its 3-in-1 M.2 expansion cards for the following wired interfaces, though higher-spec/higher-speed options are available in the full-sized 80-mm form factor:

  • Up to 2x ethernet ports at 10/100/1000 Mbps
  • 2x RS232/422/485 serial ports
  • 2x USB 3.2 ports

The actual ports for external cables are hosted remotely via a wired connector to each of the M.2 cards.

The key benefit of Cervoz’s multi-form-factor M.2 expansion cards is that you only need a single stock item to support adding interfaces to a great number of end products, such as a range of compact industrial PCs.

Cervoz has no minimum order quantity and claims to always have stock of its products, so if you’ve got a large project and want to consult with Cervoz about best pricing for these devices, follow the link to the board page below and apply to evaluate this technology today.

Keep designing!
