At CES 2026, Nordic Semiconductor’s booth proved that serious engineering can still be a lot of fun. From ultra-low-power Bluetooth demos to a golf ball that lasts seven and a half years on a single charge, this was one of the most interactive booths on the floor.
The spotlight was on the NRF54L15, a powerhouse SoC that beats the NRF52 Series on both speed and energy use. In a side-by-side benchmark, it ran the same algorithm faster and at just a quarter of the power.
Next up: Wi-Fi audio. Nordic’s NRF7002 and NRF5340 combo beamed high-quality audio across a Wi-Fi link to a headset, showing off Auracast compatibility and low-latency wireless sound.
But perhaps the most surprising demo was a golf ball. Using NRF54 tech and a clever integration with the foot tracking venue system, it tracks hits, ownership, and data while stretching battery life from 7.5 hours to 7.5 years. That’s the kind of leap engineers dream about.
Then there’s asset tracking. The Thingy:91X (based on the 9151) offers multi-cell, Wi-Fi, and GPS tracking in one small device. With clever location triangulation, the system can provide different levels of granularity based on your deployment.
