Safe enough for automated assembly processes: A solid-state rechargeable micro-battery

Game-changing disruptive technology spotted! ipXchange unfortunately did not get the chance to talk to them at Embedded World, but a quick photo and some post-show research told us that we had found something very special.

ITEN’s solid-state micro-batteries are rechargeable, recyclable, and robust. Contrary to the image on our ePoster below, these devices are VERY small: the 500-µAh-capacity model is just 4.5 x 3.2 x 2.3 mm and still is able to pulse 200 mA when required. This makes it a great fit for any compact IoT device that transmits data via anything using Bluetooth, LoRa, Zigbee, NB-IoT, etc.

Not only are ITEN’s micro-batteries safe enough for the automated assembly line, but they have a lifetime of 10 to 20 years and are specified for over 2000 charge/discharge cycles in a room temperature deployment. Better yet, since these devices are constructed using cells, in the same way as most batteries, customisation is available to suit your application, and these can be as thin as 330 µm!

If that’s got you thinking, go learn more about ITEN’s incredible innovation and the comprehensive evaluation platform in the link to our board form, where you can also apply to test this technology for use in a commercial application.

Keep designing!
