In another interview from Hardware Pioneers Max 2023, ipXchange chats with our good friends at Taoglas about one of our favourite devices, the Taoglas Universe antenna (PCS.50.A). As David explains, this FR4, 38 x 10 x 1.6 mm active antenna is tuned specifically for compact IoT devices with ground planes as small as 40 x 50 mm.

By utilising active rf switching to matching circuits in your design – as are present on the Universe’s evaluation board – this antenna can be tuned to provide wideband coverage for GNSS connectivity (1561-1602 MHz) and most 4G cellular bands (698-960 MHz and 1710-2700 MHz). This makes Taoglas’ Universe a great fit for compact products in applications such as asset tracking, wearables, or smart sensors.

Keep designing!
