This SOM features a quad-core NXP processor, paired with a DeepX AI accelerator capable of delivering up to 25 TOPS at just 5W peak power. This makes the Virtium IMX8 Mini DXM1 SOM highly suitable for visual processing and inference tasks, such as computer vision in robotics, industrial automation, smart kiosks, and medical diagnostics. The accelerator allows developers to offload AI workloads from the main application processor, lowering system temperature and increasing hardware reliability in constrained environments.
To ease integration, the Virtium IMX8 Mini DXM1 SOM supports standard interfaces including Gigabit Ethernet, optional Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and camera input.
