In a hot-off-the-press ipXperience with Ambiq Founder and CTO Scott Hanson, ipXchange is proud to announce the release of the first product in Ambiq’s new Apollo510 family of MCUs and – if in keeping with the other Apollo families – wireless SoCs!
In this interview, Eamon and Scott discuss the new features and improvements of the Apollo510 device when compared to the already outstanding Apollo4 MCUs, which are now surpassed as Ambiq’s lowest-power, highest-performance microcontrollers despite shifting from a Cortex-M4F architecture running at up to 192 MHz to a state-of-the-art Cortex-M55 architecture running at up to 250 MHz.
And yes, this makes it great for AI workloads – up to 11x better than the Apollo4 – even without a dedicated NPU! Wearables and IoT devices are about to get even smarter…
Eamon and Scott discuss this new AI functionality, the software development kits to support developing these workloads, what Ambiq means by 2.5D GPU and how it enables even nicer user GUIs, the improved DSP enabled by the new core architecture, the benefits of everything being on chip, the improved device security, and more.
