At this time, Novelda are unable to support applications for component evaluation through ipXchange. If you submit an application using this page, we will try to find a suitable alternative technology from a different supplier.

Novelda’s X4 is a highly-configurable single-chip solution for UWB proximity sensing and the smallest available in its class; the chip comes in a 12 x 12 x 2 mm package and can be integrated behind plastic, glass and fabrics. Key features include a low peak power consumption of <120 mW (typ.), and sensing is possible through any material except metal, with human detection at a range of up to 10 m. The operating temperature range is – 40 °C to + 85 °C.

Typical applications for UWB sensing are presence detection for home and building automation, as well as presence detection for computing devices, offering a precise millimetric sensing with ultra-high spatial resolution for simultaneous multi-object tracking.

The Novelda X4 UWB sensor demo kit contains the impulse radar transceiver SoC module and a serial protocol interface module, which connects to your choice of a GUI or command line. The software runs for testing on a Raspberry Pi 4 or an alternative platform.

If you have a design in mind requiring such presence detection, fill out the form below, and we will arrange a free demo kit for you.
