Note: ScioSense will be present on the ipXchange booth, they do not have their own booth at Embedded World. ScioSense’s range of environmental and flow sensors can be seen during SENSOR+TEST, from 11-13 June in Nuremberg.

Is it really just three weeks until Embedded World in Nuremburg?! Well, ipXchange is back, and this time, we’ve brought friends!

Over the course of this week, ipXchange will be sharing some brand new ipXperiences with our official exhibition partners, starting with ScioSense, who will be demonstrating the ultra-low-power ENS220 barometric pressure and temperature sensor live on the ipXchange booth!

To get you hyped, Eamon chatted to Jan and Guido who have been working on several application demos for this highly compact chip.

To start, the trio discuss the popular balloon demo that ScioSense has previously had on their own booth at many exhibitions. This uses two ENS220s – one in the base unit and one by the balloons – for centimetre-level height measurements between the two units.

This high level of height measurement precision is enabled by the ENS220’s excellent relative pressure measurement accuracy of ±0.025 hPa within the 300 to 1200 hPa operating range. A sampling rate up to 1 kHz also means that the ENS220 is great for fall detection, which is another demo discussed, along with indoor event detection, as written about in this community content post.

Learn more about this state-of-the-art, three-in-one sensing solution by following the link to the board page below, where you can also apply to evaluate the ENS220 for use in your next commercial project.

Look forward to the live demo at Embedded World 2024, and stay tuned for more pre-show ipXperiences in the coming days.

Keep designing!
