Welcome to Bangalore—RCB country and, it turns out, the home of a tech revolution for electronics design engineers. TenXer Labs has created something that feels like a glitch in the Matrix: LiveBench, a platform that lets you evaluate silicon online in real time, without ever touching hardware.
Plug In, Power Up
We caught up with Anand from TenXer Labs to explore how LiveBench is turning the traditional evaluation process on its head. Instead of waiting for dev kits, setting up benches, and wrestling with driver installations, you simply head over to tenxerlabs.com, pick a board, and dive into testing—all from your browser.
With a growing library of evaluation kits, from TI Sitara processors to DC-DC converters, users can remotely access full setups, complete with test equipment, sensors, and live video feeds. It’s like having a global lab pass—without the lab.
Real Hardware, Real-Time Testing
Each LiveBench station is connected to a real board—powered, instrumented, and camera-ready. Engineers log in (via email or LinkedIn), select a lab, and launch into their evaluation. If someone else is using the board, you can reserve a future time slot. Once your session ends, the bench resets to a pristine state, ready for the next user.
We saw boards with oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power supplies, and even clever add-ons like humidifiers simulating gas leaks for sensor testing. It’s the kind of custom testbed you’d normally spend days building in-house—now available at the click of a button.
Why This Matters
If you’re vetting silicon for your next project, LiveBench saves you hours of setup and days of shipping. Want to compare face recognition performance on access control units? Need to verify motor control capabilities before committing? TenXer Labs lets you explore all that before you spend a cent on hardware.
And for design engineers under pressure to deliver fast, this is a game-changer. It removes friction, accelerates decision-making, and offers a more confident design start.
The Future of Evaluation?
TenXer Labs has already launched over 120 such live benches, covering everything from power to sensing to AI use cases. They’re inviting the global engineering community to evaluate smarter—virtually.
So next time you think about ordering a dev kit “just to try it out,” maybe don’t. Head over to TenXer Labs and plug into the Matrix instead.
