Future Electronics Carpark Occupancy Demo Kit (Radar + LoRa + GNSS)

Future Electronics’ Carpark Occupancy Demo Kit combines evaluation platforms from several manufacturers to create a reference design for detection of vehicles at a distance of up to 7 m with data backup to a cloud-based server.

This demo kit comprises the Acconeer XM132 radar sensor evaluation board and a STMicroelectronics STM32WL evaluation board for LoRaWAN connectivity, in addition to STMicro’s Teseo-LIV3F GNSS module and a MultiTech Conduit® Access Point for LoRa networking.

At the heart of the XM132 is Acconeer’s A111 60 GHz Pulsed Coherent Radar (PCR) module, which can measure distances from 60 mm to 7000 mm, with multiple-object detection.

The STM32WL evaluation board features the STM32WL55JCI7U MCU with a dual Arm Cortex M0+/M4 cores and an integrated RF transceiver for the 150 MHz to 960 MHz frequency range. This supports LoRa® radio networking as well as the (G)FSK, (G)MSK, and BPSK modulation schemes.

To those interested in using this technology for a commercial application, more information can be provided regarding the individual boards within this kit. You can also apply for either of these boards using the form below.

This kit measures approximately 147 x 89 x 54 mm.
