Note: This device is a perfect companion for testing the u-blox GNSS functionality of Move-X’s Cicerone development board.
Taoglas’ Cloud is a flexible polymer loop antenna operating in the 1559-1610 MHz range for applications that use GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou GNSS constellations. This antenna features a 38 x 37 x 0.15 mm cloud-shaped peel-and-stick design for easy mounting onto a plastic enclosure, and it is extremely resistant to detuning affects caused by the end device’s environment. An I-PEX MHF I (U.FL comp) connector with a 92 mm cable comes as the default interfacing option for connection to your PCB; further consultation with Taoglas may result in alternative options for your project.
Key RF performance characteristics include a maximum input power of 5 W, 3 dBi peak gain (-1 dB average), and 80% efficiency. The antenna operates with an omnidirectional, linearly polarised output at 50 Ω and is suitable for operation at -40°C to 85°C and 40-95% relative humidity. Operating characteristics of this antenna are provided in further detail as part of this datasheet.
If you’re looking to use this antenna for a commercial GNSS application, fill out the form below, and ipXchange will put you in touch with Taoglas. Custom and alternative models are also available to meet different project and frequency requirements, so consider any application the start of a conversation to find the right solution, rather than a simple nod towards the Cloud antenna specifically.
